Jacob M. Davidson
Shareholder
Midland Office
Full Biography
Jacob has developed a reputation for not only giving practical, straightforward advice to solve problems before lawsuits are filed, but also for the ability to prepare for and try cases, when necessary, after suit is filed. He has tried numerous lawsuits and argued case-disposing motions on behalf of most of the Permian Basin’s largest oil and gas producers. Jacob is frequently asked by clients and colleagues to take the lead in preparing the technical side of a lawsuit in both the prosecution and defense of claims, including the evaluation and approach to the opposing side’s testifying experts, whether that dispute arises from a contract provision, alleged environmental contamination, or technical, petroleum engineering issues.
In addition to his active trial and litigation practice, Jacob currently serves DGC as President and Managing Shareholder where he has practiced his entire career. Raised in Eastland, Texas, Jacob received his Juris Doctorate from the Texas Tech University School of Law, graduating in the top 10 percent of his class with Order of the Coif and summa cum laude honors. He received his undergraduate degree in 2004 from Austin College in Sherman, Texas with summa cum laude honors, where he served as Student Body Vice Present and majored in History and Political Science, receiving a nomination for departmental honors in History. He has been active in his local church and proudly served as his children’s first soccer, basketball and baseball team coach. Now, Jacob can be frequently found in the stands cheering them on.
