Rob Hargrove represents oil and gas producers and occasionally landowners in oil and gas disputes, both in courthouse litigation and in contested cases before the Railroad Commission of Texas.

Rob Hargrove represents oil and gas producers and occasionally landowners in oil and gas disputes, both in courthouse litigation and in contested cases before the Railroad Commission of Texas. He has handled oil and gas litigation matters around the State, he has presented oral argument in a number of Texas intermediate Courts of Appeals, and he regularly handles complex contested case hearings before the Railroad Commission in Austin. He is currently an officer of the State Bar’s Oil, Gas & Energy Resources Law Section. He is frequently asked to speak at statewide CLE presentations.

Rob grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. He’s practiced law in Austin his whole career and has focused on oil and gas law since 2007. Rob is married to a lawyer, and they have three children.

Rob is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is an Officer of the Oil, Gas & Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas (Secretary in 2024-2025 Bar Year). He has been selected as a “Super Lawyer” from 2021-2024, and he was a “Rising Star” in 2005, 2010, 2013, and 2014. He was recognized by Chambers and Partners as a “Band 2 Energy: State Regulatory & Litigation (Oil & Gas)” lawyer in 2024. He is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
