Sam D. Patranella practices in the areas of energy and business organizations & governance. His practice extends throughout the Permian Basin and includes Eastern New Mexico.
Sam has worked with clients that include publicly-traded oil and gas companies as well as closely held enterprises. He has negotiated oil and gas leases, advised in curative options for title defects, and drafted real property instruments, original drilling title opinions, original division order title opinions, and acquisition title opinions for oil and gas clients. On the corporate side, Sam has handled deeds of trust, counseled on corporate governance matters, formed business entities, and drafted transactional documents in connection with purchase and sale agreements.
As a 2004 cum laude graduate of Texas A&M University's Mays Business School with a BBA in Management, and a holder of an MBA degree from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University, Sam is keenly aware of the range of business considerations that frequently influence legal matters and is adept at communicating with clients about cost-benefit analyses. His business background has helped him to identify solutions for clients that work from both a legal and business standpoint.
