Lauren A. Shapiro's practice focuses on oil and gas title examination throughout the Permian Basin.  She joined Davis, Gerald & Cremer in 2011 after having served as an Assistant District Attorney in Collin County, Texas, where she investigated and prosecuted misdemeanors.

Lauren is involved in the representation of numerous oil and gas clients, for whom she drafts drilling title opinions and division order title opinions.  She routinely deals with a variety of oil and gas issues that overlap with other areas of law, such as probate and family law.  Lauren's previous experience relating to the oil and gas industry includes time spent as a landman in Midland.  In this capacity, she researched private and public records to determine the status of surface, mineral, and leasehold ownership.
In 2006, Lauren participated in a clerkship at the Federal Trade Commission in Dallas, where she researched and analyzed federal consumer protection laws.  She is also familiar with corporate governance issues, including SEC-registration and filing procedures for REITs.

Lauren was named as a 2010-2011 Outstanding Attorney Under 40 by the Cardozo Society of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas.
