Shannon H. Ratliff

Shannon has been a trial and appellate lawyer for more than fifty years. Shannon focuses on complex oil and gas, securities, and general commercial litigation. After law school, Shannon clerked at the United States Supreme Court for Justice Tom C. Clark and served as an assistant to Lyndon Baines Johnson in his roles as Senate majority leader, Vice President, and President. He then returned to Texas and has been trying lawsuits ever since. He has repeatedly been recognized as a Best Lawyer in America and a Texas Monthly Super Lawyer. During his career he has been the lead trial lawyer in numerous complex law suits for Fortune 50, 100 and 500 companies, including nationwide class actions, qui tam actions, and multi-district litigation. He is also an experienced appellate advocate, who is often retained as lead appellate counsel and has argued scores of cases before state and federal appellate courts. Shannon is a frequent speaker at oil and gas conferences.
